Charles "Haywire" Patoshik

Season 1

Haywire was temporarily Michael's cellmate after Sucre requested and received a cell transfer. After Haywire expressed to Michael that he has no interest in escaping, he got in the way of Michael's plan because of his "neuroanatomic lesion affecting his reticular activating system," so he "doesn't sleep. At all." Haywire later becomes obsessed with Michael's tattoos, realizing that he is hiding something inside of them. Michael faked an assault and got Haywire a hotshot and transferred back to psychiatric ward. Several episodes later, Michael seeks Haywire's help in remembering a part of the tattoo that he had lost to the burn on his back.

Eventually Michael is forced to include Haywire in the escape after he found out about the plan. Haywire escapes with the other inmates soon after. When the other escapees tricked him into leaving their escape van by feigning loss of the keys and driving off without him, Haywire pilfered a bicycle and a football helmet from a nearby home and is last seen riding the bicycle with both arms outstretched down an empty road.

Season 2

After keeping a low profile during the aftermath of the escape, Haywire eventually resurfaces in a Cedar Grove, Wisconsin Dairy Queen. After gorging himself on some soda and ice cream, some teenaged employees enter, and panic once they see Haywire. He escapes to a home in the suburbs, where he meets a blind, elderly woman who mistakes him for her son "Billy", who supposedly ran away in order to get married to his loved one. After getting a new set of clothing, Haywire sees a picture of a windmill in the countryside. He becomes enthralled by the picture and asks the older woman where it is. She replies that it is in Holland, where she grew up. She then grasps his hand, but can tell by the feel of it (or perhaps by the lack of a wedding ring) that it's not Billy's hand. She called the local authorities to report a home intruder. Haywire quickly escaped the home without harming her, but not without stealing the portrait of the Holland countryside.

Haywire is next seen stealing a map and various other accessories from a sporting goods store. When he realizes the shopkeeper is not physically able to catch him, he runs off with the merchandise, but the shopkeeper's border collie gives chase. He is about to kill the dog, but manages to peacefully pacify it with food. Later, Haywire and the dog are at the shore of Lake Michigan, with Haywire studying a painting which he believes to be his map. He tells the dog he wants to build a raft and row across the lake towards Holland, where he's planning to start a new life in a windmill.

While scrounging wood for his raft, Haywire is approached by two teenagers, Sasha and Matt, and asked to buy beer for them. Haywire agrees as long as he can buy some food for his dog, now named Larry. They agree, and say he can keep a beer for himself, but Haywire refuses, saying that his dad drank. After buying the beer, they ask what he needs the wood for, and he tells them it's for his raft, and invited them to take a look at it. While showing his map of how to get to Holland (the painting he stole earlier), he notices Sasha has bruises on her wrists. When confronted about them, she tells him her dad drinks as well.

Later in the evening, Matt drops off Sasha at her house while Haywire watches. Upon noticing Sasha's abusive stepfather is preparing to beat her, Haywire breaks in and beats him to death.

In the next episode, he is chased up a grain mill by Brad Bellick, who was hired to pursue him by FBI Agent Alexander Mahone. Mahone climbs up the grain mill and proceeds to persuade Haywire to commit suicide. Mahone tells Haywire that he can't go to Holland and that there's only one way. In the end, Haywire ended his life by jumping down from the grain mill.

Mahone had been pressured by Agent Kim to kill Haywire, but was hesitant to do so due to Haywire's mental illness.

Season 3

In the episode "Good Fences," Haywire appears as a hallucination to Alexander Mahone, accurately warning him that Michael Scofield was tricking Mahone.

Warden Henry Pope

Season 1
For his 40th wedding anniversary, Pope wanted to give his wife Judy a replica of the Taj Mahal. However, he constructed it poorly and has enlisted the help of Michael to make sure the structure is stable. Michael has used this time to help himself further his escape plan. Michael's affilitation with Pope soon angered Brad Bellick, the Captain of the Fox River Correctional Officers. While Pope was an honest man who believed in rehabilitation, Bellick was known for both taking bribes and inmate abuse. Pope did not know of the extent of Bellick's corruption and even intended him as his heir after he would retire. Bellick secretly looked down on Pope, viewing him as a softy who were not hard enough on the inmates. But after Pope catched Bellick bad-mouthing him to Governor Tancredi he harshly reprimanded him, frightening Bellick.
Years earlier while in Toledo, Pope had had an affair and fathered a child, Will Clayton, who later had run-ins with the law and died at 18. Pope had admitted the affair to his wife but did not tell her about Will. Agents Kellerman and Hale attempted to use this information to blackmail Pope into allowing Michael to be transferred to another prison, though their efforts failed when Pope refused the transfer and told his wife about Will. Presumably, she forgave him as Michael continued working on the Taje Mahal replica.
Pope had immense respect for Michael as a structural engineer and as "a decent young man". Their respect and trust between each other increased as Michael regularly visited Pope to help him with his Taj Mahal project. Pope trusted Michael, often leaving him unattended in his office. On the night of the escape, Warden Pope was forced to release Lincoln from solitary by Michael while he held a shank against him. Pope was shocked and felt betrayed by Michael. He immediately contacted the police and the governor upon the escape.
Season 2
Pope remains loyal to his staff even after Agent Mahone persisted on questioning Dr. Sara Tancredi. When a conduct review committee voted to dock Pope two weeks pay and put him on probation for three months while Bellick was fired, Pope stood by Bellick and resigned in protest. While clearing out his office, Pope was reminded by the model of the Taj Majal of the trust he put in Michael and destroyed it in a fit of rage.
After a 15-episode absence, Pope returned in "Bad Blood", playing a vital role. After Michael discovered that Pope was a member of the cigar club where, just before his murder, Frank Tancredi stored a piece of evidence that could exonerate Lincoln, Michael goes with Sara to Pope's house to ask him to get the evidence for them. After a heated argument that included Michael pointing a gun at Pope, Pope reluctantly agrees, but in exchange he asks Michael to turn himself in. Pope retrieves the evidence, which is a conversation recorded between President Reynolds and Terrence Steadman two weeks after Steadman's supposed death, stored on a USB stick. After Agent Kim attempted to arrest Pope just after he left the club, he is rescued by Michael, Lincoln and Kellerman. After Michael drops Pope off at his house, Pope tells Michael he doesn't need to turn himself in. The two then parted ways, on at least somewhat good terms.

Charles Westmoreland

A relatively quiet and gentle man, Westmoreland took great pains to stay out of other people's business, including Michael's escape attempt, despite Michael's efforts to recruit him. He and Captain Brad Bellick enjoyed a mutual respect for many years until Westmoreland refused to tell Bellick what he'd seen after a guard was murdered outside Westmoreland's cell during a prison riot. Shortly thereafter, Westmoreland found Marilyn dead in his cell. Westmoreland quietly retaliated by starting a fire in the guards' break room and making it appear as if Bellick's negligence had caused the fire. This also allowed Michael and the P.I. crew access to the guard's room in order to dig a hole for their escape.

Upon learning that he would not be allowed to visit his terminally-ill daughter until after her death, Westmoreland became desperate to escape. He finally confirmed that he was D.B. Cooper by showing Michael a one hundred dollar bill matching the serial number of the first bill from the fabled hijacking. After becoming a member of the break-out team, Westmoreland participated in the first failed escape attempt. He would eventually form a friendship with fellow escapee C-Note, bonding over the fact that they were both fathers and talking about their families. C-Note was one of the few people entrusted with Westmoreland's true motive for escape; his dying daughter.

Westmoreland attacked Bellick when Bellick discovered the hole the team dug in the guards' room. He successfully subdued Bellick but was severely wounded by a piece of glass, piercing his torso. During the escape, he collapsed in the infirmary from loss of blood. He told Michael to go on without him, but not before making him promise to visit his daughter (a promise Michael would later sadly be forced to break) and then revealing the location of the D.B. Cooper money (under a silo at the Double K Ranch, just outside of Tooele, Utah), and revealing that sum was $5 million, rather than the one million generally assumed. He is later found dead by Warden Pope.

Dr. Sara Tancredi

Intelligent, kind, passionate and beautiful, Dr. Sara Tancredi seems to have it all. However, as you dig beneath the surface, you realise that Sara's life isn't all that. As a child, her father was mostly absent from her life, she tells Michael that her father has been present for only a few birthdays out of the 29 she has had and only sends her flowers when he is absent. Her father is Illinois Governor "Frontier Justice" Frank Tancredi, but Sara is hesitant to claim him as her father when Michael asks her.

Sara is his only daughter and due to his prolonged absences when she was a child and her mother's resentment towards him, she has a more than cool relationship with her father.

Sara Tancredi had chosen her profession from a young age. However, growing up in the suburbs of Chicago, she assumed that she would be situated in a nice, sheltered private practice or hospital. But during her freshman year in Northwestern, her life was turned around by the one and only Mahatma Gandhi. "Be the change you want to see in the world." Sara then decided to follow a more humanitarian path. However, she abused her privileges as a doctor by stealing morphine and needles for herself and her other drug addict boyfriends. During this time, her father had to use his authority to keep her and her boyfriends out of prison, which is something he still seems to resent when Sara asks him to look over Lincoln's case.

Three years prior to Michael's arrest, Sara was walking down the street with one of her boyfriends, clearly under the influence of morphine. Right before her eyes, a young boy is hit. Witnesses try in vain to help him, when Sara's hospital ID is noticed and she is asked to help. However, she couldn't because of the morphine she had taken. Clearly shocked and shattered, Sara takes the reins in both hands and steers her life in the other direction. She stops taking drugs and decides to return back to her high school quote, "Be the change you want to see in the world."

At a recovering addicts meeting, she meets Captain Bellick who tells her of the job vacancy at Fox River and asks her out to dinner. She declines politely but goes for the job.

Dr. Sara Tancredi is one of the few doctors in Fox River; therefore she has an immense load on her shoulders. She is responsible for everything from administering medication to performing minor surgery. Sara's job at Fox River is a constant annoyance to her father, as he is always worried about what may happen to her. This happened especially after Sara was almost raped and hurt by the inmates in Sick Bay during the riot. Despite this incident, Sara returns to work the next day, showing that she had the courage and fortitude to do what she believes in.

From the moment they met, Sara realised that there was something different with Michael. In fact, they realise that they might have even met at parties during university, this does not regularly occur between a doctor and an inmate. She finds herself drawn to Michael, firstly to find out why such an intelligent, successful man who doesn't seem to be at all violent end up in a prison like Fox River. Sara searches for answers, and isn't quite sure what to make out from the bits and pieces she finds. Being a logical, smart woman, her mind is telling her that Michael is an inmate, he can't be trusted, but her heart says something else.

Sara finds herself falling for Michael and is utterly shocked and extremely jealous when she sees Michael coming out of the conjugal room with his "wife" Nika. She tries to give him the cold shoulder and hide her feelings for him, but after a while Sara lets down her barrier and shares a kiss with Michael in the infirmary.

Sara agrees to help Michael out when he asks her to go to her father. Despite her almost non-existent relationship with her father, she tries to get her father to reconsider Lincoln's case. However, her efforts are all in vain when things turn for a worst and she ends up having a disagreement with her father and he calls her a thief, cheat and a liar.

The magnitude of her love for Michael is shown when he tells her about his escape and asks her to leave the infirmary door open that night. After much deliberation, Sara goes back and unlocks the door for Michael. She then returns home and overdoses on morphine because she is overwhelmed with what she has done. Her fate is currently unknown.

Paul Kellerman

Kellerman is a man with a mission. Make sure that Lincoln Burrows is executed or else. Anyone who gets in his way is eliminated. Even his partner, who was also his close friend.

During season 1, which was only a few weeks long, he killed six people and attempted to kill another three. The six that were murdered were: Lisa Rix and Adrian (LJ's mother and step-father), Sebastian (Veronica's ex-fiance), Leticia Barris (Crab Simmons' girlfriend), his partner Agent Danny Hale and Quinn, who was hired by "The Company" to replace Kellerman and Hale. Agent Kellerman also attempted to murder Veronica Donovan, Nick Savrinn and LJ Burrows.

Fifteen years ago, Paul Kellerman graduated from West Point. He then fought in the Gulf War and was the first to be promoted to captian. Kellerman had a promising future in the army, but was approached by the Secret Service, offering him a leadership position. On his application, Kellerman wrote that he wanted to become a Secret Service agent "to help defend our country".

Paul Kellerman and Daniel Hale were partners for five years. Kellerman was seen as the ruthless one, shooting anybody in his way, whereas Hale was more hesitant. In the end, Hale decided to give it all up and move away. He contacted Veronica Donovan and arranged to meet her so that he could give her information that will lead to the exoneration of Lincoln Burrows. However Kellerman joined them, and upon learning that Hale was giving Veronica names including his own, Kellerman shot Hale dead. Daniel Hale had young children and a pregnant wife.

Kellerman�s alias is Owen Kravecki, a sales manager for a beef jerky company. He was almost killed by LJ Burrows, but the police intervened before anything happened.

Kellerman seems to personally know President Caroline Reynolds, as he sometimes makes personal references during conversations, seems to be very comfortable with her and also genuinely cares about her. We know that they have known each other since at least 1992, but are not sure how long. We are currently unaware of any past or present relationships between Paul Kellerman and Caroline Reynolds.

Officially, Paul Kellerman is not listed as a member of the Secret Service or even as an employee of the Federal Government.

Banjamin Miles "C-Note" Franklin

Season 1

C-Note eventually started working in the prison kitchen and gained a reputation as the "prison pharmacist", being able to acquire any item or substance for other inmates for $100, or a "C-Note" (which, in conjunction with his namesake's appearance on the bill, spawned his nickname). He and Michael Scofield first crossed paths when Michael asks him to obtain some PUGNAC to allow Michael to feign diabetes and thus gain access to the infirmary (a critical aspect of his escape plan). C-Note was curious but Michael refused to tell him what it was for. In "Allen", C-Note refused to deal with Michael after seeing him associating with T-Bag, leader of a white supremacist group in the prison. He later reconsidered after seeing Michael apparently fighting one of T-Bag's men during a riot, though his curiosity was not diminished.

He later became suspicious of the PI crew when he realized that they were discarding pieces of concrete across the prison yard, from the hole they had been digging in the Break Room. After the PI head, John Abruzzi was briefly replaced by Gus Fiorello, C-Note bribed him to work in PI. He discovered the hole that Michael and crew had dug as part of the escape plan. When Abruzzi regained control of PI, C-Note threatened the crew to let him on board or he would tell the guards.

C-Note later became a respected member of the team when he helped the team out of several problems that nearly derailed the escape plan. He also befriended Charles Westmoreland as they both shared the same need to see their family again. One consequence of his joining the escape team, however, was C-Note being ostracized by other black inmates, ironically for the same reason C-Note had initially refused to deal with Michael consorting with T-Bag, who had also joined the escape team. C-Note had two violent encounters with his former associates and only the escape prevented him from being killed.

After the "Fox River Eight's" escape, C-Note, Michael, Lincoln, Sucre and Abruzzi met bigger problems as their escape plane took off and left them stranded with numerous police on their trail.

Season 2

The next morning, C-Note, Michael, Lincoln, Sucre and Abruzzi continue to run from the authorities, narrowly running past a freight train to evade their pursuers. C-Note becomes the outspoken man of the fugitive group. He chastises Scofield for failing to openly disclose to the group the existence of Westmoreland's money in Tooele, Utah and he also demanded that Abruzzi be abandoned because he took a young girl hostage when her father recognized the five as the Fox River escapes. C-Note is focused on rejoining his family and the little trust he ever had for his fugitive comrades appears to be wearing thin. His wife and daughter were, up until the start of second season, unaware of his incarceration as he had managed to trick them into thinking he is still serving overseas in Iraq. They learned the truth when his escape made the news.

By episode 3 "Scan", C-Note contacted his wife by pay phone and she was quite upset with his lies and even doubted that he was ever in the US Military. C-Note promised to explain everything and that he would come into a lot of money soon. He said in 7 days, that they would meet at the "Rainbow Room" at the window where they had their picture. Eavesdropping FBI agents assumed they meant a city restaurant. C-Note later meets his daughter at school and asks her to tell her mother to turn the porch light on at 7 o'clock as an indication of her trust. By the episode's end, C-Note is skulking about near his family's home, while an FBI Agent Lang interviews his wife.

C-Note then proceeds to make his own play for Westmoreland's money by taking a train to Utah. Borrowing a laptop and notepad from the commuter sitting next to him, C-Note accesses an online military database run by the United States Army Signal Corps to find the site where the money is buried. Unfortunately, midway through Preston, Idaho, an attendant tells him that the credit card used to buy the ticket is not valid. C-Note attempts to reason with him, but the attendant calls for security. Out of options, C-Note is forced to bolt out a window, into a nearby river. He passes through Cache County, Utah and inquires about an RV for sale. He is told that it will cost $40,000. C-Note replies that he will be back in a couple of days with cash.

He is later seen hitchhiking when Sucre, driving past on his motorcycle, agrees to give him a ride. They arrive in Toledo and are reunited with Michael. They proceed to dig for the money. Unfortunately, a house had been built over the burial site. Though the fugitives were initially able to fool the residents into thinking they were maintenance men, they eventually got wise. C-Note loudly voiced his disapproval to Michael about taking innocent people hostage, and his old tensions with T-Bag also resurfaced. But these feelings later give way to excitement when they finally dig up the money. Unfortunately for C-Note, Sucre chooses this moment to double cross them all and demands the money from them while holding them at gun point. C-Note immediately leaves for his family after seeing that the money is gone. In the episode "Unearthed", he meets up with his old friends back in Chicago for help with executing his plan to reunite his family. He and his wife, Kacee, and daughter Dede finally have their reunion in an alley after a narrow escape from the federal agents.

In the episode "Disconnect", C-Note has a happy time with his family until his daughter complains of stomach problems. Kacee tells him that they don't have her medication, and they leave to find a pharmacy. While buying medication, the pharmacist recognizes Kacee, and on the pretence of needing change from the back room, calls the authorities. Kacee is arrested, but not before she drops the medication into the trash so C-Note could pick it up from there.

C-Note and his daughter return in "John Doe". C-Note is guilt-ridden over his wife's arrest, and tries to see if Kacee will be allowed bail. He plans for her to skip bail and rejoin him, and for the family to move to Alaska. However, Kacee's bail is denied.

In the episode "Chicago" C-Note and Dede are in a Benson, Minnesota diner when Dede becomes sick due to her lack of medication[1]. C-Note prepares to leave when suddenly, a man holds up the diner with a gun. After C-Note stops the man from holding up the diner, a female customer the robber was planning to kill lets him leave despite knowing his wanted status. Despite this, Agent Mahone receives a report that C-Note was spotted at the diner, and that his daughter was sick. Mahone arrives in Minnesota, but C-Note manages to evade him by boarding a train. After C-Note nearly resorts to painful means at a free clinic to help his daughter, he calls Mahone and offers to turn himself in so that Dede will receive proper treatment, asking also that his wife be released. Mahone agrees, and in return, C-Note must give him information on Michael -- the website Europeangoldfinch.net, which C-Note overheard Michael telling Sucre about in Utah. When C-Note could not find Michael's location, Mahone forces C-Note to hang himself, under orders from Agent Kim, in exchange for his wife and daughter's well being. The episode ends just as C-Note jumps off his cell bed with the noose around his neck, but he is saved by a guard in the next episode. In the prison infirmary, he phones the FBI and demands to speak to Mahone, but Agent Wheeler (Jason Davis), who happens to be investigating Mahone, answers the call instead. Wheeler says he can keep C-Note safe if he tells him what Mahone asked him to do.

A week later, Wheeler has C-Note released from prison and placed in the Witness Protection Program with his family in exchange for testifying against Mahone. He won't be returning to the main cast of Season 3. To date, C-Note, Fernando Sucre and Lincoln Burrows (who has now been exonerated of all charges and is legally a free man) are the only group of the Fox River 8 to successfully evade their capture.

John Abruzzi

Season 1

As a former Chicago mob boss, Abruzzi enjoyed celebrity status amongst the prisoner population at Fox River. He ran Prison Industry, an internal work program for the convicts, and was both highly respected and feared by the rest of the cons inside Fox River's walls. His mobster status also allowed him to enjoy a certain extent of autonomy and freedom inside the prison's walls, especially from the head of the internal correctional officers Captain Brad Bellick, who was on the payroll of Abruzzi's associates. Abruzzi proved that he would go to great lengths to find Fibonacci, even cutting two of Michael Scofield's toes off trying to extract Fibonacci's location from him. Eventually, Abruzzi realized that Michael was not going to be easy to crack, so he decided to keep his enemy close and teamed up with Michael to break out of prison.

When T-Bag told his cousin James about the break out plan, Abruzzi ordered one of his men on the outside to make James disappear for a week. The kidnapping went bad, resulting in the death of both James and his 5 year old son, who was being used as a human shield. Abruzzi, despite being deeply saddened, had his men inside of the prison rough T-Bag up. Badly injured and fearing for his life, T-Bag finally agreed to back out of the escape plan. Abruzzi, recently finding religion as an outlet for his pain, decided not to kill him -- this proved to be a big mistake, as T-Bag immediately took the opportunity to slash Abruzzi's throat.

Abruzzi was evacuated from Fox River by helicopter to receive treatment for his injuries. This complicates Michael's escape plan, as a plane Abruzzi owned was the planned getaway vehicle. Abruzzi however survived and rejoined the escape attempt about two weeks later, apparently a changed man (returned six episodes later). Upon his return he appeared to have become extremely religious, after having seen what he perceived as the image of the face of Jesus in a water stain on his cell wall. Although his religious faith was surely not fake, his overly friendly demeanor was. Abruzzi was in fact every bit as ruthless as before, going as far as to set up the kidnapping of Veronica Donovan as a means of forcing Fibonacci's location out of Michael. Michael never came to learn of this, since Veronica escaped from Abruzzi's clutches. It is also implied that he had planned to kill most of the team, as he only arranged for a three-seater plane. Nevertheless, Abruzzi continued to act benign while still inside the prison walls.

He later escaped with Michael, Lincoln Burrows and other inmates. Abruzzi planned to kill T-Bag during the escape, but T-Bag handcuffed himself to Michael to ensure his safety, knowing that Abruzzi needed Michael. However, Abruzzi used an axe to cut off T-Bag's hand, simultaneously taking his vengeance and ridding the group of T-Bag. Abruzzi was one of the group of five who was forced to run on foot after the plane left them behind.

Season 2

On the morning after the escape, John Abruzzi found himself with his fugitive comrades, continuing to evade the authorities on foot. After narrowly passing a freight train to create more distance between themselves and the authorities, the group of five escapees were trapped by an armed hunter who was aware of their fugitive status. Abruzzi quickly took matters into his hands by taking the hunter's daughter hostage. As the hunter lowered his weapon, the fugitives hijacked his SUV and continued on to Oswego to find Michael's hidden cache in the cemetery where they all found a change of clothing. The fugitives went their separate ways soon after this. Surprisingly, he showed no further interest in finding out Fibonacci's location.

Abruzzi met up with his family and together they planned to catch a cargo ship to Sardinia. Before he and his family could leave, however, Abruzzi was informed of Otto Fibonacci's residence at a motel outside of Washington D.C.. Abruzzi at first questioned the validity of the claim, but proceeded on to track down Fibonacci when the source was confirmed -- ignoring his wife's pleas. However, it turned out to be a trap set up by Agent Mahone and the FBI in an attempt to recapture Abruzzi. Before walking out of the motel room he was trapped in, Abruzzi stated, "I deserve to know who turned on me." Brazenly, Abruzzi walked out of the motel room with a gun in hand. Mahone asked Abruzzi to put down his gun, place his hands behind his head and kneel. Abruzzi scoffed at this and remarked, "I kneel only to God. I don't see him here." Just as Abruzzi raised his gun in an aggressive manner, Mahone took cover and watched on as the FBI team riddled Abruzzi with bullets, killing him with a cross in his hand. He was the first of the "Fox River Eight" to be taken down and the second main character to be killed off in the series.

Veronica Donovan

Season 1
In the first season's flashback episode, "Brother's Keeper", Veronica's relationship with Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller) is explored. After Lincoln's arrest, Veronica reveals to Michael that Lincoln may not be the man he thinks he is. She tells him that Lincoln had taken a $90,000 debt to cover for his education, stating to Michael, "You are where you are because of him." This prompts Michael to change as he realizes that, "He is where he is because of me."
Although she is a real estate lawyer and not a criminal lawyer, Veronica defended her childhood friend, Michael Scofield at his trial. Initially, she didn't believe Lincoln's innocence and was convinced by the security tape footage. However, after the disappearance of Leticia Barris, a witness who could prove Lincoln's innocence and a bishop who opposed Lincoln's death penalty, Veronica was led to believe that Lincoln might have been set up.
She approached Project Justice for help with Lincoln's case, knowing that she herself did not have any experience in death penalty cases. However, they refused to partake in her case. Nick Savrinn (Frank Grillo) later offered his help after telling her that his father was similarly accused of a crime he did not commit. Together, they worked tirelessly, trying to uncover the truth behind Terrence Steadman's apparent murder. The original security tape which they were looking for was destroyed and in the subsequent episode, "Riots, Drills and the Devil (Part two)", they are threatened via a public phone call in Washington, D.C. and were targeted by Paul Kellerman and Daniel Hale, who are secret service agents. They were nearly killed by an explosion in Veronica's apartment and in the following episodes, L.J. Burrows joined both of them after escaping from the agent's clutches. All three of them went into hiding. Their lives were once again in danger when Agent Quinn, who managed to find out their secret location, attempted to force the truth out of them. They managed to escape.
Knowing that hiding is not the answer, Veronica, after being informed of Daniel Hale who was willing to provide information, decided to go out into the open and visit Lincoln in cell. Hale was executed after revealing that Steadman is still alive. Veronica go back to the court for one last time to appeal for Lincoln, but this ultimately fails. Fortunately, someone slipped in evidence in the last minute which helped to stall Lincoln's execution. Veronica and Nick decided to send someone to do a test on Steadman's body, but the dental records matched Steadman's past records. In "J-Cat", Nick, Veronica and L.J. return to New Glarus to visit the dead Quinn, where they obtain his cell phone. Eventually, they found out Terrence Steadman's hideout in Blackfoot, Montana.
However, at the end of the episode "Tonight", Veronica was betrayed by Nick upon John Abruzzi's request to have her "ready and waiting" at the airport on the night of the escape. Nick however let her go to the airport as he did not want Veronica to be killed. After arriving at Blackfoot, Montana, she managed to sneak into Steadman's house and confronted him.
Season 2
Following her confrontation with Steadman (Jeff Perry), she called the police for help, as the house in which Steadman lived was only accessible from the outside. While Terrence and Veronica wait for the police to arrive, Lincoln Burrows contacted her, telling her that he and Michael have escaped from prison. Veronica told him to turn himself in and allowed the police, who had arrived, to enter the house. Unknown to her, the police were actually the secret service agents, ordered to protect Terrence Steadman and to ensure that he was well-hidden. Veronica could only look on in horror as the agents executed her in cold blood. It turns out that the land Steadman was on was federal grounds, and all calls went to the agents. Veronica became the first main character to be killed off in the series.
The agent who killed Veronica and tried to kill Sara would be executed by Alexander Mahone. Even though the character dies in the season's premiere, Veronica was briefly mentioned in John Doe and Panama, though she did not make any appearances. In John Doe, Lincoln was reminded by Terrence Steadman of Veronica's death and he had to be persuaded not to kill him. In Panama, Lincoln and Michael got into a fight regarding the death of Veronica and Lincoln told Michael that she did not have a choice when she died. Her disappearance was also mentioned by Governor Frank Tancredi while going through the procedures to become the vice-president.

Michael Scofield

Michael Scofield’s educational background leaves many questions as to why such a man would commit the crime he did. Beginning with an immaculate record at Morton East High School, he would later graduate Magna Cum Laude with a B.S and M.S. in civil engineering from Loyola University of Chicago.

Scofield then found employment in Chicago as a structural engineer at the prestigious firm of Middleton, Maxwell and Schaum.

Then, his life took an unexpected turn for the worst. Scofield was convicted of armed robbery after attempting to steal over half a million dollars from the downtown Chicago branch of United Savings Bank. At his trial, Scofield pled no contest and requested to serve time in the level one facility closest to his Chicago home. That facility was Fox River in Joliet.

Once in Fox River, a great deal of attention was focused on Michael Scofield. Inmates were very interested in what Scofield was all about. The medical staff was concerned with his health because in addition to his scheduled visits to the prison clinic to receive his (DIABETIC DRUG), he also required emergency treatment on two occasions: first because of a severed toe, and second for a severe burn to his back. Warden Henry Pope also took an interest in Scofield and invited him to work on a personal project of his. Eventually it would come to light that Scofield was planning his escape from day one, and used his relationship with various people in the prison to facilitate the escape.
After successfully breaking out of Fox River, Scofield eluded authorities for a period of 16 days, during which he was spotted in various locations including: Montana, Indiana and Chicago. At one point, the US Border Patrol had him in custody, but during transport he managed to escape yet again.

The next time he would be seen was in the country of Panama. Scofield rendezvoused with his brother, Lincoln Burrows and Sara Tancredi. Thinking the worst was behind them, the trio boarded a sailboat which Scofield had prepared ahead of time, hoping to disappear forever. However, the FBI caught up with them. When FBI closed in and tried to take Scofield into custody, FBI agent Bill Kim was shot and killed in the melee. Shortly thereafter, Scofield was arrested by the Panamanian Police and charged with homicide.

Michael Scofield is currently awaiting trial in the Panamanian prison of Sona.

Lincoln Burrows

Lincoln Burrows’ life began a downward spiral at the age of 15. He dropped out of Morgan Park High School in the 10th grade, and immediately found himself in trouble with the law. Prior convictions include two months for Theft; three months for Criminal Damage to Property; six months for Battery; Six months for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and ten months for Battery.

It seemed like the natural progression of things when Burrows was charged with the murder of Terrence Steadman, a Washington lobbyist and brother of President Carolyn Reynolds. He entered a plea of “not guilty” but the jury saw otherwise and he was sentenced to death by electrocution. Borrows would wait out his remaining days at Fox River Penitentiary.

Although the evidence was stacked against him, on May 12th Lincoln’s execution was stayed due to the appearance of new evidence that raised questions of his guilt. However, those questions didn’t lead to answers that would allow him to walk away a free man. Burrows execution was rescheduled for May 26th.

Before that date arrived, Burrows escaped from Fox River with his brother, Michael Scofield, and became a fugitive from the law.

Burrows and his brother were spotted on various occasions during their trek across the country. At one point, Burrow was apprehended by US Boarder Patrol, but somehow managed to get away, yet again.

On June 16th, Burrows was exonerated of all charges stemming from the Steadman case following the testimony of former Secret Service Special Agent, Paul Kellerman.
Burrows is currently in Panama City, Panama.

Fernando Sucre

Fernando Sucre was born in Chicago, IL and raised on the streets. Sucre managed to stay out of trouble until he was caught holding up a liquor store with an unloaded firearm. This crime was apparently carried out in order to secure enough cash to buy an engagement ring for his girlfriend of three years, Maricruz.

Sucre was sent to Fox River where he was a model prisoner. The only offense against him was sneaking out of his cell after hours, once again, for Maricruz.

As fate would have it, Scofield and Sucre became cellmates; making Sucre a player in Scofield’s escape plan.

After busting-out of Fox River, Sucre learned that Maricruz and his cousin Hector were going to be married in Las Vegas. In an attempt to stop the wedding, Sucre arrived at the chapel ahead of time, but Hector had notified the local Nevada authorities of Sucre’s likely arrival and Sucre was forced to flee the scene.

Sucre was also allegedly involved in an incident at the residence of Jeanette Owens. (The Tooele, Utah resident who was held hostage in her own home, while members of the Fox River eight dug up her garage in search of the elusive Westmoreland $5 million.)

According to FBI agents, he was last seen boarding a plane to cross the border. Other eyewitnesses claim to have seen him in Mexico, but he is currently at large.

Theodore "T-Bag" Bagwell

Theodore Bagwell (T-Bag) has barely known life outside of correctional institutions. As a child, he was frequently cited for vandalism and cruelty to animals. Bagwell was sent to juvenile hall after he tried to burn down his fourth-grade teacher’s house. This first incarceration was where he was first introduced to a white supremacist gang known as the Alliance for Purity.

As Bagwell grew up, his crimes grew more serious, including assault with a deadly weapon and attempted murder, landing him in Alabama’s Donaldson maximum-security prison, where he immediately assumed a leadership position in the Alliance for Purity.

Upon his release from this first prison term, Bagwell went on a rampage. He embarked on a rape and murder spree across Alabama that included several teenage victims, earning him an appearance on the popular television series, America’s Most Wanted. Once captured, Bagwell’s attorney petitioned for his client to be incarcerated out of state to avoid re-establishing power in the Alliance for Purity. Bagwell then ended up in Fox River Penitentiary where the Alliance for Purity was non-existent. But the charismatic “T-Bag,” as he is now known, quickly established the Alliance as one of the most powerful gangs in the prison.

T-Bag’s time at Fox River was brief, but while there he managed to incite a riot and kill a guard in the process. After discovering Michael Scofield’s plan to escape, he weaseled his way onto the escape team and summarily broke out of Fox River.
Once “The Fox River Eight” escaped, it didn’t take long for T-Bag to take up some of his old habits again. His first victim, Dr. Marvin Gudat, was a veterinarian from a small clinic in Illinois. T-Bag murdered Gudat after forcing him to provide impromptu medical care for his recently severed hand. A Good Samaritan named Jerry Curtain offered Bagwell a ride from Nebraska to Utah and was later brutally beaten by Bagwell who made sexual advances toward Curtain’s daughter, Danielle.

From there T-Bag made it to Toole, Utah where he stole an archived map from the county clerk’s office and reunited with Michael Scofield and Lincoln Burrows to enter Jeanette Owens’ home in search of the Westmorland’s money. He apparently then made off with all of the cash.

Former Fox River C.O.’s Brad Bellick and Roy Geary apprehended T-Bag and tortured him in order to find out what he had done with Westmoreland’s money. T-Bag told them, but later was able to track down Geary and retrieve the cash. He then murdered Geary and framed Bellick for the crime..

T-Bag then fled to Panama and wound-up right where he started – in prison. He is currently held in Sona Prison, awaiting trial for the murder of a prostitute in Panama.

Alexander Mahone

Alexander Mahone joined the army shortly after he turned 18. He began as a low-level grunt and worked his way up the ranks to Special Operative in the first Gulf War.

From there Mahone became an FBI Agent. His reputation grew as he apprehended criminal after criminal, but got some negative attention when he took on the case of Oscar Shales. He never officially caught the fugitive but he served his own swift form of vigilante justice. He murdered Shales and buried him. Charges were never brought.

Agent Mahone’s next case was the Fox River 8. He methodically tracked down the escapees. And, one by one, administered his own brand of justice, killing many of them in cold blood. But the capture of the mastermind, Michael Scofield, eluded him. Mahone went as far as enlisting the help of a former guard and (and later, inmate) of Fox River, Brad Bellick.

Agent Mahone chased Scofield all the way to Panama. But by then Mahone wasn’t concerned with putting Scofield back behind bars. Mahone had cut all ties with the FBI and hoped to take the money Scofield had dug up with the other escapees and start a new life with his wife and family in Columbia. This plan ended up back firing when an anonymous tip to the Panamanian police informed them that Mahone could be found on a sailboat filled with cocaine and attempting to cross through the Panama Canal. The Panamanian Police took Mahone, who maintains he was set up, into custody.

Mahone now faces charges of possession of a narcotic with intent to traffic and awaits trial in Sona.

Brad Bellick

Captain Bellick passed the Correctional Officer Exam the autumn after he graduated from high school and has been employed at Fox River Penitentiary ever since. In that time, he slowly and steadily climbed up the C.O. ranks.

Three years ago, despite several claims of inmate abuse (none of which could ever be corroborated), Bellick was promoted to the position of captain, the highest rank a C.O. can earn. His duties included: aiding in the transportation of death row inmates to the electric chair, supervising Fox River’s prison industries program and overseeing the day-to-day operations of all the inmates in general population.

Captain Bellick’s practices were called into question after The Fox River Eight escaped on his watch. His job with the Department of Corrections was swiftly terminated, leaving Bellick to ponder what the future held for him. Looking for revenge, Bellick teamed with another disgraced Fox River C.O., Roy Geary, to track down the eight escapees. Their desire for revenge quickly turned to greed when they discovered the escapees were likely going to dig up five million dollars in stolen money.

Bellick and Geary caught up with T-Bag in Kansas. T-Bag has recently stolen the five million dollars from the other escapees, so Bellick and Geary tortured him to find out where he had stashed Westmoreland’s money. Once they found the money , Geary double crossed Bellick and took it all for himself. T-Bag later caught up with Geary. Murdered him, and framed Bellick for the killing.

Bellick soon found himself back at Fox River, but this time as a prisoner. His stay was a short one, though, because the FBI cut a deal with Bellick so he could assist in tracking down the escaped prisoners.

Bellick later headed to Panama, supposedly going after the illusive five million dollars. While in Panama, he was found with a dead prostitute in a local hotel room. He’s awaiting trial in Sona Prison.
